LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District board has approved $1 million in an effort to buy out a group of repeated flood victims, while Metro Council leadership and Mayor Greg Fischer were making no promises to provide city funding.

The Courier Journal (http://cjky.it/1Iwc5zW ) reports a recent recommendation from a work group created by Fischer and Metro Council President David Tandy was that the financial burden be shared with $1 million each from MSD and Metro government and any insurance distressed homeowners have.

The work group had envisioned a $3 million buyout program aimed at helping out the owners of up to 30 homes that repeatedly flood and were greatly damaged by high water in March and April.
