LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lextran and University of Kentucky announced their new partnership on Tuesday morning, as well as their new U-PASS program.
The program, authorities, say, will be effective July 1. U-PASS will allow U.K. faculty, staff and student to ride any Lextran bus route free of charge, by presenting their valid Wildcard ID.
According to Lextran’s Jeff Fugate and U.K. President Eli Capilouto, U.K. Students previously had to purchase a Class Pass, which allowed for unlimited rides per semester or academic year. This extra charge will no longer be necessary, he says, and any U.K. student who already bought a Class Pass for the 2015-16 school year may receive a full refund from Lextran.
With routes that travel through 21 different cities throughout Lexington, Capilouto says the program will include all Lextran routes, both on and off campus.
