UPDATE: Arrest made in Somerset motel shooting

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – Somerset police have arrested one person and say they are still investigating after two people were shot Saturday night.

Police say they got multiple 911 calls, just after 10 p.m., reporting a disturbance at the motel. The callers told police that people on motorcycles showed up in the parking lot and started shooting.

When police arrived, they found two people shot. Police say they are, Johnie R. Wardrup, 69, of Tateville, and James Mankin, 26, of Somerset.

According to police, Wardrup and Mankin were flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital with gunshot wounds to their legs.

Police say they arrested Christopher Michael McCracken, 28, of Nashville, Tenn. on the scene for carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

According to police, several of the people involved were interviewed and have failed to cooperate in the investigation.
