LFD: Woman arrested in connection to string of fires

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fire investigators have arrested and charged a woman in connection to starting a string of fires at an apartment building in Lexington.

According to Fayette County District Court, Danitra Ross, 38, was arrested by fire investigators early Sunday morning and charged with five counts of arson, all occurring in May and June of this year.

The fire department has had several structure fire responses to the apartment building over the past month and a half, according to ABC 36 News records. When firefighters responded, they found a window shutter on fire at the building.

ABC 36 News reported on May 4th that the fire department had two instances of window shutters burning at the apartment building in less than 14 hours. Their most recent response to the building was on Friday night.

The fire department says they worked with Lexington Police during the investigation.
