One arrested, police still searching for suspects in Lexington shootings

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police are still searching for suspects after a recent string of shootings.

Officers say nine people were shot and three of them have died but so far only one person has been arrested.

Police say they’re following up on all possible leads but still asking the community for help. They say if you know anything about the recent shootings, investigators want to know.

Jermaine Anderson is the only one arrested.

Sunday he was accused of fleeing and evading police, tampering with evidence and trafficking drugs. Thursday he answered to additional charges of assault and murder.

The judge entered a not guilty plea and didn’t set a bond.

Police say Sunday evening, Anderson shot into a car on Whitney Avenue, killing Montez Graves and hurting another person.

There were four other shootings. Police say those are without any arrests.

Investigators say it is too soon to know if any of them are connected.

Meantime, plans are moving along for a peace walk to rally against the recent violence in the city.

There’s a planning meeting this Saturday evening from four to seven at the Community Action Council on Georgetown Street.
