Burglary suspect fell through ceiling panel

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) — Early June 2, Berea Officers say they were called to the Boone Square Mini Mall for an apparent burglary.

Officers say they found a glass case inside had been damaged, and some jewelry had been taken.

They later got a report about a man attempting to pawn a ring in London, police say, which matched the description of one of the stolen rings.

Detained by London Police, Wilgus Johnson Jr. admitted that he had climbed onto the roof and had been moving through the duct work when he fell through a panel ceiling. Kicking open a glass case, 34-year-old Johnson Jr. also admitted to kicking the case open and taking the jewelry.

Johnson Jr. was arrested and charged with third-degree Burglary.
