LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Churchill Downs’ new track announcer has arrived and will make his debut as the track’s new voice on Saturday.
Travis Stone will also describe Kentucky Derby action on May 2, while former announcer Larry Collmus continues to call the Triple Crown races for NBC Sports.
Track President Kevin Flanery says the 30-year-old Stone communicates his love for horse racing and his charisma when calling a race.
Stone was the race caller at Monmouth Park in 2014 and previously was track announcer at Louisiana Downs.
He becomes the eighth track announcer at Churchill Downs.
