LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky Air National Guard says more than 40 soldiers are deploying to the Persian Gulf region to assist Afghan security forces.
A statement says troops are scheduled to depart from Louisville on Friday and head to an undisclosed base where they will help with training, advising and counterterrorism operations.
The airmen are replacing soldiers who deployed in February and are expected to return in July.
