Kentucky ranks 48th in national eco-friendly survey

Earth Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – Kentuckians may want to plant a few trees in light of a recent study.

Just in time for Earth Day, a financial website has ranked every state according to how eco-friendly it is. "Wallethub" says the characteristic is linked to long-term financial stability in areas like energy consumption and disaster cleanup.  The site compared each state using markers like air quality, water quality, and gasoline consumption.

Vermont was at the top of the list, while Louisiana was at the bottom.  Kentucky came in at a disappointing 48th ranking.
