"Wallethub" says the characteristic is linked to long-term financial stability in areas like energy consumption and disaster cleanup. The site compared each state using markers like air quality, water quality, and gasoline consumption.
Vermont was at the top of the list, while Louisiana was at the bottom. Kentucky came in at a disappointing 48th ranking.
