Man charged after reportedly ramming police cruisers during pursuit

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police in Harlan, Kentucky arrested a Knox Co. man Sunday evening following a pursuit.

A trooper says he pulled over a 2003 Toyota Corolla on U.S. Hwy. 25E for expired tags.  The trooper says as he approached the car, the driver took off.  According to the police report, the trooper followed the driver through downtown Barbourville and then back to U.S. Hwy. 25E as additional officers joined the pursuit.

According to investigators the driver purposefully rammed cruisers several times as they tried to box him in.  The pursuit ended in a Taco Bell parking lot where cruisers were able to finally block the driver in.

The 49-year old driver, Jack Rose, of Barbourville, was arrested and faces multiple charges.
