High waters destroy bridge in Madison County

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Flooding and high waters along Otter Creek in Madison County destroyed a bridge near Red House Road on Friday.

They have no way to get in and out now, they are isolated,” Gary Northern, who lives on the accessible side, says. “[On] the far end, the blacktop area is completely gone. The bridge is intact, but the blacktop that was on the other side is gone.”

Northern says there is a family that lives on the other side of the creek, but they’ll be fine for now.
