LPD: Woman injured when pickup ran into car being towed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say a woman suffered minor injuries when the pickup truck she was riding in ran into the back of a car that was being towed.

Investigators say it happened early Sunday evening at the intersection of Liberty Road and New Circle Road.  Police say the woman who was hurt got out of the pickup and laid down in the road, which led to initial speculation that she may have been ejected from the truck.  Police say she wasn’t seriously hurt and was treated at the scene.

The collision did temporarily impact traffic since the inner loop of New Circle Road was down to one lane while the accident scene was cleared.
