The Electronic Crime Branch and the Cannabis Suppression Branch assisted in carrying out the arrest. Burchett was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Police say they began investigating Burchett after discovering him sharing images of child exploitation online.
Police executed a search warrant on Burchett Wednesday evening. He was arrested shortly thereafter.
Burchett is currently charged with 20 counts of possession and five counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. In addition, while executing the search warrant, troopers discovered a sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation. Burchett was subsequently charged with cultivating marijuana (five plants or more), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Burchett was lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
