He was an eight-year veteran with the Nicholasville Police Department. He was also a member of the Honor Guard, a field training officer, part of the bike patrol and an army veteran.
Officer Rhoads was killed in a car accident last Wednesday along U.S. 27 in Garrard County.
Hundreds attended his funeral Tuesday, including law enforcement agencies from all across Kentucky, to celebrate the life of Officer Rhoads. The funeral was held at Southland Christian Church in Jessamine County.
The procession for Officer Rhoads went from the church to the Camp Nelson National Cemetery where he was laid to rest. The procession drove through the streets of the community he served and past the Nicholasville Police Department.
The community lined the streets in honor of the fallen officer to say good bye and thank you.
