In the most recent theft, investigators say someone took about $30,000 worth of bourbon from the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg.
Wednesday night, officers arrested Gilbert Curtsinger, 45.
Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton says a tip from the text-a-tip program started the investigation a few days ago.
Investigators found five barrels of Wild Turkey Bourbon, more than $3,600 cash, steroids and syringes plus about 25 guns in Curtsinger’s Saint John’s Road home. Investigators do not believe the guns are stolen but they are not sure if the silencers on many of the guns are legal.
"We’re going to move very slow and methodically,” said Melton. “When we move forward from this point, whatever action we take will be very justified and very warranted.”
Melton says the barrels are uncut bourbon from 2008 and worth between $3,700-$6,000 per barrel.
Melton says Curtsinger works at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. He says investigators have a second suspect, an employee at the Wild Turkey Distillery, but officers are not releasing any other information.
There’s still no arrest in the theft of more than 65 cases of Pappy Van Winkle from a year and a half ago.
The cases were stolen from the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort and the missing bourbon is valued at more than $26,000.
