LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Office has activated the Winter Care Program in the wake of a potentially record breaking winter storm.  The program will be handing out coats, hats, and blankets to people in need.

The Winter Care Program started 12 years ago after the brutal 2003 ice storm.  The program also provides transportation to and from work for people employed at a hospital or nursing home, transportation to and from critical medical appointments, and pick-up of essential medical prescriptions from pharmacies.

If you need assistance, or know someone who does, call Elizabeth Pickett, Director of Information Services, at (859) 252-1771.
