Sherriff’s Office: Detective assaulted during Boyle Co. traffic stop

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office says a detective was assaulted during a traffic stop. Deputies say it happened when the detective pulled over a car on U.S. 127 in Junction City.

According to investigators, 30-year-old Gregory K. Reed of Danville was a passenger in the car. Reed was reportedly wanted for a parole violation.

Deputies say when the detective went to arrest him, Reed assaulted him and and ran off. The sheriff’s office says he was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Reed faces several charges, including resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and trafficking methamphetamine.
