Bluegrass Farmers’ Market needs new location

CRAB ORCHARD, Ky (WTVQ) – The Bluegrass Farmers’ Market is looking for a new location after the lease was not renewed for its location off Richmond Road.

The lease for the primary market was no renewed due the local businesses needing additional parking.

The Bluegrass Farmers’ Market, BGFM, in Lexington has been in operation since 1996.  It is a producer-only market meaning the vendors cannot buy and resell.  BGFM is committed to local food and customers who love interacting with the people who grow it.

The BGFM has a satellite location at Azur in Beaumont Centre but it only has space for 25 vendors, BGFM has 38 vendors and is growing.  BGFM would like to find a forever home that fits everyone.

BGFM needs either paved land or gravel, not grass and it needs to be zoned for a business.  It would like to stay near the Richmond Road/Man O War Blvd. area but is willing to go anywhere.  The market will be set up from mid-April through the end of October.

The satellite location at Azur is scheduled to open with limited participation on March 28th.
