Public Safety Update for February 7, 2015
An anonymous on-line tip form has been created as a means for individuals to notify the Police of information that can be used to identify the responsible individual. This on-line form can be found at http://www.police.eku.edu/eku-tip-reporting. EKU Police can also be contacted at (859) 622-1111.
The threat contained is this graffiti poses a great challenge for all of us at EKU. Across campus and in EKU family homes here and abroad, important discussions are taking place right now about how best to respond to this threat. While we have no plans at this time to close campus or cancel classes, this does not mean our faculty, staff and students are limited in the steps they can take in adjusting class times or meeting spaces as they feel appropriate. We encourage all members of the campus community to join in a campus-wide effort to face this challenge with unity, resolve and ingenuity. Now is the time for creative solutions that respect what is a very real threat but still allow the EKU living and learning experience to continue.
The EKU Police Department asks that all members of the campus community allow our trained law enforcement professionals to provide for the safety of all of us. Individual private protection efforts by well-meaning people will impede our efforts to investigate this case and provide comprehensive security protection in the days ahead. Anyone who may have information regarding this case is asked to call EKU Police at (859) 622-1111.
