Crews in London said just after midnight, heavy smoke was spotted pouring from Weaver’s Hot Dogs on Main Street.
Firefighters said heavy flames began shooting through the roof.
A business next door, Bob’s Ready to Wear, suffered heavy smoke damage from the fire.
London firefighters familiar with Weavers said when it burned down Monday morning, a part of the town’s history was lost.
"Weavers has been around since 1940 in downtown London. It’s been a staple here. It’s pretty much the oldest business on Main Street, if not the oldest around besides banks. It’s just been a daily place where people come for breakfast and lunch of course," said Captain Tony Brown, London Fire Department.
Investigators said they will be back at the scene Monday to try and determine the cause of the fire.
