SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A teacher in Bullitt County has been charged with assaulting a 6-year-old student who was seen on surveillance video being dragged by the arm.
The teacher, Ashley Silas, has been charged with a misdemeanor for the Oct. 29 incident.
WAVE-TV in Louisville reports (http://bit.ly/1Jni1Mr) the boy’s father asked police to review surveillance video at Brooks Elementary School after the incident.
County prosecutor John Wooldridge said this week his office forwarded a criminal complaint against Silas with the fourth-degree assault charge.
Silas told a tribunal investigating the incident that the boy seemed to be enjoying sliding down the hall and being the center of attention. She said he had been disruptive.
Attorneys told the TV station it is unlikely Silas would face any jail time over the incident.
