A Kentucky man is dead after an overpass collapsed onto the southbound lanes of I-75 in Cincinnati around 10:30 Monday night.

That man was a construction worker identified as Brandon Carl, 35, of Augusta.

Officials said Carl was crushed to death after he was pinned under the rubble. His body was taken from the wreckage around 3 Tuesday morning.

A man driving a tractor trailer was also hurt during the incident.

The Cincinnati Police Chief said southbound lanes of I-75 would be closed for at least 48 hours for cleanup and investigation.

That is the same highway drivers use to get to Lexington from Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Police Department is currently looking into what happened, but officials believe the collapse was caused by construction work going on in the area.
