The program offers assistance to households having trouble paying their energy bills, or facing disconnect or past due notices.
Last year, the program provided financial assistance to over 6,400 participants, and provided services in excess of a million dollars.
Eligibility is determined based on income, household size, and fuel type, among other factors.
To apply for the program, applicants must bring the following:
-Proof of income for the previous months (for all adults 18 and over.)
-The most recent heating bill (or, an eviction notice and verification from the landlord that heating costs are included in the rent.)
-Birth dates of all household members.
-Proof of Social Security number, or permanent resident card for each member of the household.
