The Beacon of Hope Emergency Shelter opened Tuesday in Winchester following an open house reception.
The new shelter aims to bring people in who do not otherwise have a safe place to stay overnight.
The shelter is also offering hot meals seven days a week.

Beacon representatives are asking for donations from the public to aid them in their mission.
