Interim police chief named in Glasgow


GLASGOW, Ky. (AP) — Glasgow’s mayor has named a new interim police chief.

WBKO-TV reports ( ) that Mayor Dick Doty has named Lt. Col. James Duff as the city’s new interim police chief.

Doty says Duff has been with the department for more than 20 years. The City Council will need to approve the appointment at its next meeting on Jan. 12.

Former chief Guy Turcotte resigned at the end of December. He will stay with the police department as a lieutenant colonel.

Doty says he has contacted the Kentucky League of Cities to help with the search for a new chief.
