UPDATE: 2 People Arrested in Winchester Shooting That Killed 1, Injured 3

Two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting that killed an Eastern Kentucky University student and wounded three others, Winchester Police said.

Police arrested Lamont Wilkerson, 19, after police executed a search warrant at his home early Wednesday morning. Police said he is charged with murder and 1st degree burglary.

Winchester Police said they also arrested Lillian Barnett, 18, and charged her with complicity to commit murder for her involvement in the shooting.

Police said the shooting happened Tuesday night at an apartment complex on Oxford Drive.

When officers arrived, they found three people shot. Two were found inside the third floor apartment and transported to University of Kentucky Hospital in critical condition. Another person was found deceased in the apartment below.

A fourth shooting victim was taken by a private vehicle to Clark Regional Hospital and then transported by ambulance to University of Kentucky Hospital, police said.

The Clark County Coroner said Amber Caudill, 19, was pronounced dead on the scene from what appeared to be a stray bullet that traveled through the floor of the apartment above.

Police said Caudill was just an innocent bystander to the shooting.

"We believe this was a targeted home invasion,” Winchester Police Captain James Hall said. “We believe Mr. Wilkerson and others that were involved . . . were specifically targeting the residence of apartment number 47 for certain reasons."

Winchester Police said they are still looking for a third suspect in last night’s shooting.

They ask if you have any information on the shooting to call them at 859-745-7400.
