LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A high school football coach in Louisville has been suspended from the sidelines after officials say he failed to quickly report an off-campus gun incident involving students.

Jefferson County Public Schools spokesman Ben Jackey told several media outlets that Moore Traditional High coach Eric Dick remains a teacher, but has been relieved of coaching responsibilities indefinitely.

Jackey says Dick had knowledge of the alleged gun incident, which happened Oct. 20 following an after-school activity. Jackey says Dick did not report it to Moore principal Vicki Lete.

Jackey says, Lete received information about the alleged gun incident from a parent the next day. Lete approached Dick and learned that he did know about the incident.

The suspension covers Moore’s last football game of the season Friday night.
