Teams Build Playground In Six Hours

Putting together an entire playground is all in a day’s work for some volunteers in Lexington.

Hundreds of them joined "KaBOOM!" for one of their famous one-day blitz builds at the North Lexington YMCA.

They started construction at 9:00 this morning and hope to be finished by 3:00 this afternoon.

Lexmark has a team working on the project which included YMCA board member Neill Kahle who said, "I’ve been coming to this Y for 10 years and I have gotten to know and love the people who come here every day. One thing I love about the YMCA is nobody gets turned away and so much of the effort that goes towards the North Lexington community has just motivated me to come and be a part of this."

Mayor Jim Gray, Councilman Chris Ford, and the Central YMCA President will join the volunteers at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
