UK Women’s Basketball Goes Orange for Hunger Action Day

UK Women’s Basketball Coach Matthew Mitchell and several players of his team traded their blue and white colors for orange Thursday to support Hunger Action Day.

Coach Mitchell had promised God’s Pantry Food Bank in August that he would recruit a number of lady Wildcats to help feed those in need. And, true to his word, he and his team showed up to assist the charity with packaging food to send to 50 counties in central and eastern Kentucky.

September is Hunger Action Month, and God’s Panty Food Bank, along with Feeding America, encouraged volunteers to wear orange on the fourth to help raise awareness of hunger in Kentucky.
