UPDATE: Humane Society Offers $2,000 Reward in Dog Abuse Case

The Lexington Humane Society announced it was increasing a reward that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in abusing a dog.

LHS credited the increased amount to a local business woman who heard about the abuse Felicity the dog had suffered and wanted to help.

The Humane Society said Felicity, who had profanity chemically burned into her fur and skin, is currently getting over a cold.

They said once she is back to 100 percent health, the canine will undergo plastic surgery to help remove the profanity and scarring.

The reward in the abuse case was increased from $1,000 to $2,000.
