Over three years of efforts by the Bereans for Fairness group has led to the city’s first reading of an LGBT Fairness Ordinance scheduled for Tuesday night, according to the organization.

A discussion about the ordinance was slated for 5:30pm at Berea’s Police and Municipal Building, with the first official reading due at 6:30.

If adopted, the measure would extend employment, housing and public accommodations rights to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender residents.
