West Sixth Brewing held "6th For A Cause" Saturday. Representatives from the group hoping to raise the funds for the Kentucky theatre were around the brewery from 3-7 but the support lasted longer.
A minimum of 6% of the day’s proceeds went in support of the organization that advocates for the downtown arts icon.
Renovations to the theatre’s concession area are scheduled this year. Supporters spoke about why Friends of the Kentucky is so important for them to get behind.
"We just celebrated about a year ago, the 90th birthday of the theatre so we want to make sure she’s lovely for another 90 years. So that’s why some generous people with their time and resources throughout the community have been very supportive," said one supporter of the theatre.
There was also a raffle for passes to see Stop Making Sense. the concert film celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
