Robert Dunn was called to the stand first. In his testimony, he said he knew Marcum and Singleton got into fights often as they were dating.
He also pointed out that Marcum was very jealous, even after her and Singleton’s break-up.
Dunn described a conversation he had with Marcum after the murder happened, stating that he didn’t know who had killed Singleton’s wife, Angela.
The prosecution asked if Marcum had told Dunn that Jason killed his wife and why.
He answered, "Right…he was crazy about her. He did it for Christina."
The defense questioned why Dunn would wait until a week before the trial started to mention this, and then the prosecution called Cheyanne Sutherland to the stand.
Sutherland had lived with Singleton and Angela Frazier-Singleton for a short time after Marcum and Jason ended their relationship.
Sutherland said while she was living with them, Marcum threatened Frazier-Singleton multiple times over the phone.
"She was gonna kill her," Sutherland testified. "If she caught her out, she was had."
The defense may question Sutherland further, but they’ve reserved the right to recall her to the stand until a later date.
