Just after three Friday morning, Lexington police said a woman was driving along South Upper Street, close to Bolivar, when she lost control of her SUV and clipped a fire hydrant.
The accident, they said, sent the hydrant flying close to 50 feet down the roadway.
Officers reported the woman was extremely intoxicated.

She was arrested for DUI and the hydrant was repaired.
