U.S. Senator Rand Paul is set to testify Wednesday in Frankfort in support of restoring voting rights to some felons.

Paul is scheduled to go before a state Senate committee.

The state House has already approved the proposal.

It would allow voters to decide whether to amend the Kentucky Constitution and allow some felons to vote.

Under the proposal, felons who have completed their sentences and terms of probation would automatically get their voting rights back.

Paul said voting rights are sacred.
