The decision to increase taxes in Scott County is now in the hands of voters.
The Scott County Clerk verified a petition Friday that recalled the tax rate levy.
School board members voted to raise taxes in December to help pay for a new high school because of overcrowding.

The board said it did not want a special election.
That means the vote will be included on the November ballot.
