Local college farmers are now selling their produce at the Berea College Farm Store.
The store opened today at 311 N. Main Street.
It will be open Tuesday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The store features products from local farms and others within the Appalachian regions.
Organizers said almost everything offered is grown by students who are working their way through college.
The store’s manager, Bethany Pratt, said the students run every part of the store. She said instead of paying tuition, they work for the store.
Jessa Turner, the Office and Farming Marketing Manger, said the store’s purpose is to “serve as the college farm’s experiential learning laboratory in value-added agriculture and local food systems.”
The store will be closed on Thanksgiving and from November 28 – December 2.
