Lexington Police Officer Injured In “Scuffle” With Teen

Lexington Police say an officer is hurt and teenager is on the run.

Police say they picked up a 17-year-old Tuesday on suspicion of being a truant from school and took him to a relative’s home on Grant Drive.

It turns out police already had an order to pick him up for something else.

Officers say that’s when the teen ran.

Investigators say an officer chased and caught him, but during a scuffle the teen got away.

Police say the officer’s arm was hurt and he was taken to the hospital.

Search dogs and the police helicopter are now involved in searching for the teenager.
