State ACT Scores Up, Still Below National Averages

The Kentucky Department of Education says high school students are making progress on ACT college entrance exam scores.  The graduating class of 2013 generated the highest scores acheived in the past five years.

Kentucky remains, however, behind on a national level. For example, 30% of Kentucky’s class of 2013 met college readiness marks for mathematics, but that’s below the 44% national average. For reading the difference was 57% for Kentucky’s graduates, compared with 64% nationwide.
