A plane crash in Pulaski County sent two people to the hospital Monday evening.
The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the plane went down on Flynn Colyer Road, off of Jacksboro in Bronston around 4 p.m. They say it crashed at the Boss Airfield.
The plane was a two-seater.
The sheriff’s office said both people inside were treated at the scene and airlifted to UK Hospital.
Sheriff’s deputies said the pilot was trying to take off from the Boss Airfield when he crashed. They said the plane wasn’t able to get to a high enough altitude.
The pilot was identified as Gary McGlothin, 54, from Lexington. His passenger was Charles Jackson, 55, of Winchester. Both men were able to walk away from the wreckage before they were airlifted, said deputies.
As of this writing, there is no word on the extent of their injuries.
After the crash, deputies said the plane caught fire. It was put out by the Bronston Fire Department.
Deputies said the FAA and NTSB have been notified and will conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.
