Investigators said a woman came home from work Thursday night on Cliff’s Edge Road, 7-miles north of London, and noticed her pickup truck was idling in her driveway. She called authorities.
Sheriff’s Deputies said when they arrived at the scene, they found Curtis B. Brewer, 34, of London, hiding in the bathroom of the home, which they said Brewer had broken into.
Investigators said Brewer had stolen a pistol and loaded it while still in the home. They said Brewer also took the keys to a pickup truck and started it up in the driveway. Deputies said Brewer had placed stolen items from the home in the pickup.
Deputies also said Brewer was in the process of hooking-up a utility trailer that belonged to the reported victim.
Investigators said a written note from Brewer to the reported victim was found inside the home stating that he was taking the pickup, a 4-wheeler and that he was sorry for any trouble.
Deputies said Brewer is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking (Auto) and Theft by Unlawful Taking.
He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
