Police say Aaron Nichols, 26, Joshua D. McIntosh, 26, and Steven Welch, 19, broke into a home on the 600 block of Cannonball on July 11th. There, they stole a safe containing old gold and silver coins and jewelry.
Later, officers say they responded to Kroger on South Main because three subjects–later identified as Nichols, McIntosh, and Welch–were trying to cash in and sell silver and gold coins. Nicholasville Police recovered some of the items there and others at another local business where the suspects sold the stolen items.
That evening, police say they stopped a silver car with the three men inside. After searching the vehicle, they found some of the jewelry taken in the burglary along with several firearms.
Nichols and Welch were arrested at the scene for unrelated charges, but were later charged with receiving stolen property. Welch was additionally charged with tampering with physical evidence.
McIntosh was initially released, but has since been arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
All three men were lodged at Jessamine County Detention Center.
