Dec. 3, 2012 -- Trader Joe's is recalling one of its frozen chicken and rice dishes because it might be tainted with listeria, which could cause food poisoning.

No illnesses have been reported, according to Trader Joe's.

The recall includes 12.5-ounce boxes of Trader Joe's Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice that have the product code "2012-10-31" and the lot code "30512" on the package. Also, the USDA has published a list of stores where the chicken was sold.

The products were made in Canada and sold at Trader Joe's in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

If you have the recalled meal in your freezer, don't eat it. Throw it out or return it to Trader Joe's for a refund.

Listeria infection can cause fever, headache, neck stiffness, and muscle aches, often preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. It's particularly risky for older adults, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, and their newborns.

For more information on the recall, call Trader Joe's at 626-599-3817 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
