After a dry start to the Fourth of July, the rain has moved in, and it is going to be a soggy evening. Fireworks displays have already been postponed in Cynthiana Paris, and Versailles.
Overnight, expect periods of rain. Some of the showers will become heavy, and a few locations may end up with more than an inch of rain by Sunday morning. Any thunderstorm activity should be limited to southern Kentucky. Overnight lows will be near 64 degrees.
On Sunday, showers will continue across most of the region during the morning hours, but by afternoon, the showers will begin to pull away from central Kentucky, moving to the southeast. By Sunday night, we all should be dry. With the clouds and showers, Sunday's high will only be near 75 degrees - yet another day with temperatures about ten degrees cooler than average.
On Sunday night, clouds will decrease and we should fall to near 61 degrees.
High pressure will build in during the early part of the workweek, and Monday and Tuesday will both be days with highs near 82 degrees under partly to mostly sunny skies. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, and slightly warmer... warming up to 85.
On Thursday, the heat will be back. Highs will be near 91 degrees. Skies will be partly sunny, and an isolated thunderstorm will be possible over the high ground of southeastern Kentucky.
Hot weather will continue through Friday. Under partly sunny skies, highs will be near 93.
By Saturday morning, scattered showers and thunderstorms will accompany a cold front. Saturday's high will be near 86. |
