Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks announced that they have waived guard Royal Ivey on Friday, according to general manager Danny Ferry.

Ivey, a University of Texas product, was drafted in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft by Atlanta and only appeared in three preseason games with the Hawks in his second stint.

He has primarily had a bench role for much of his nine-year career, playing for four teams and averaging 12.6 minutes and 3.3 points per game.
