Davie, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins cut wide receiver Marvin McNutt and defensive end Antwan Applewhite as they reduced their roster to 53 players on Saturday.

McNutt caught seven passes for 140 yards and one touchdown in five preseason games.

Applewhite has 99 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks in 48 career games with San Diego (2008-2010) and Carolina (2011-2012).

Miami waived/injured tackle Jeff Adams and quarterback Aaron Corp and waived guard Chris Barker, center Sam Brenner, wide receivers Chad Bumphis, Keenan Davis and Bryan Tyms, defensive tackles A.J. Francis, Kheeston Randall and Tracey Robertson, running back Jonas Gray, safeties Keelan Johnson and Jordan Kovacs, tackle Andrew McDonald, tight end Kyle Miller, defensive end Tristin Okpalaugo, cornerbacks Julian Posey and De'Andre Presley and linebackers Lee Robinson and Austin Spitler.
