Harrison, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Red Bull New York announced Friday that the club has acquired Bobby Convey and a second-round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft from Toronto FC in exchange for a first-round pick in the draft and a third-round pick in 2016.

"Bobby is a very experienced player who we believe can make an immediate impact on our squad," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. "We have been looking at him for some time and he will add quality on the flanks. Bobby's technical ability will certainly provide us an added dimension."

The 30-year-old began his professional career in 2000 with D.C. United, becoming the youngest player to sign with MLS at the time. From 2000-2004, Convey amassed 89 appearances, recording eight goals and adding 16 assists.

Convey, a three-time MLS All-Star with 46 caps with the United States national team, went on to join English side Reading in 2004 before returning to MLS in 2009 with the San Jose Earthquakes. He also enjoyed a stint with Sporting Kansas City before moving to TFC in 2013.
