New York, NY (Sports Network) - The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced late Monday that Red Bull New York midfielder Juninho has been suspended for one additional game and fined an undisclosed amount.

The Brazilian was issued a red card after kicking the ball at Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen in stoppage time of their game on April 17. Juninho's actions were deemed as violent conduct that endangered the safety of his opponent.

Because an automatic one-game suspension follows a red card, the MLS Disciplinary Committee's punishment brings Juninho's total ban to two matches, keeping him out of New York's league contests against the New England Revolution last weekend and Toronto FC on April 27.
