Khon Kaen, Thailand (Sports Network) - Arnond Vongvanij carded an 8-under 64 on Sunday to win the King's Cup.

Vongvanij, of Thailand, ended at 22-under 266 -- two strokes ahead of Thaworn Wiratchant and overnight leader Mardan Mamat, who shot 68 and 69, respectively.

This was the first career Asian Tour victory for the 23-year-old Vongvanij, who is in the midst of his rookie season.

Defending champion Udorn Duangdecha shot 67 at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club on Sunday and ended in a fourth-place tie with Thammanoon Sriroj (65).

Vongvanij, who entered the tournament with four top-10 finishes on the season, began the day in fourth place -- three shots off Mamat's pace.

The rookie recorded four birdies in his opening nine holes and was tied with Mamat entering the 17th, where he drained a 10-foot birdie putt to snare the outright lead -- one he maintained with a par on the last.
