Two teams share CVS Charity Classic lead

Barrington, RI ( - Bo Van Pelt and Steve Stricker teamed to fire a 9-under 62 on Monday as they grabbed a share of the lead after one round of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic.

The defending champions were joined in the lead at Rhode Island Country Club by Peter Jacobsen and Jimmy Walker.

Bill Haas and tournament co-host Billy Andrade are alone oin third place at minus-8. Russell Henley and Harris English combined to shoot 7-under 64, and they share fourth place with Hunter Mahan and Jason Dufner.

The teams of Erik Compton and tournament co-host Brad Faxon, and Zach Johnson and Matt Kuchar are tied for sixth at minus-6, while Suzann Pettersen and Jonas Blixt are alone in eight at 5-under 66.

Morgan Pressel and Juli Inkster shot 4-under 67 and they were joined there by Lexi Thompson and Billy Horschel.

Van Pelt and Stricker birdied the third and fifth. They made eagle on the par-5 eighth and parred the ninth to make the turn at minus-4. The pair birdied the first five holes of the second nine before closing with four pars in a row.

Jacobsen and Walker birdied six in a row from the third. Around the turn, then birdied the 10th and 12th before running off five straight pars. They birdied the last to post 62.
